As the took the practice field for their third and final Organized Team Activities session Wednesday, the roster still did not include a player in the No. 94 uniform.
But may that change?
the organization’s all-time sack leader and potential future Hall of Famer, remains a free agent for the first time in his professional career. But coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday the team still has a contract offer out to Jordan and remains open to the idea of him returning for a 16th season in New Orleans.
“Cam is navigating this thing on a personal side,” Moore said. “I think the world of Cam. … (We’re) here to help in any possible way. We know what he means to this organization and this city, so if the opportunity presents itself and he feels comfortable and ready to go, then we’ll be ready to rock and roll.”
He is coming off a resurgent 2025 season in which he recorded double-digit sacks for the first time since the 2021 campaign. Jordan has maintained throughout that he wants to play in 2026 and add to his career sack total — which currently stands at 132.
The veteran pass rusher made clear going into this offseason that he was not particularly happy with his incentive-laden contract last season, but it’s not clear how much leaguewide interest there has been in Jordan, who will turn 37 next month.
General manager Mickey Loomis said last month that the Saints had offered Jordan a contract to return, and Moore added Wednesday that there is not necessarily a time-sensitive element to that offer. According to Moore, Loomis and Jordan have had an ongoing dialogue for “months.”
“Guys who have had the type of careers he’s had, I think it’s important to be a resource,” Moore said. “If you have any questions about the situation here, if you have anything we can help navigate, we want to be that portion. Cam’s earned the right to navigate this thing the best he can on a personal level and a professional level.”
