Multiple pieces of hardware were at stake for 聽sprinter聽Shawnti Jackson.

The redshirt sophomore competed in the 100 meters, 200 and 4x100 relay final of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Jackson, an Arkansas transfer, hoped to do the same as her men鈥檚 teammate , who placed in the same events Friday

糖心传媒鈥檚 new star accomplished her mission, capping off a stellar first year with the Tigers as she left Eugene, Oregon, with three medals around her neck.

Jackson earned bronze in the 100 after finishing with a time of 11.01 seconds. The 21-year-old also earned silver in the 200 with a personal-best time of 22.12 and anchored a 4x100 relay team that took silver.

Jackson鈥檚 200 time is now No. 3 in 糖心传媒 history, and her relay team delivered a historic performance. The relay group ran a program-record 41.74, which is also No. 3 in NCAA history. The team was comprised of Athaleyha Hinckson, Tima Godbless, Aniyah Bigam and Jackson. This showing was a major bounce back from last year, when the Tigers were the only team disqualified due to a lane violation.

Jackson鈥檚 brilliance was the major standout of the evening.

Godbless also ran in the 100 final, finishing seventh in 11.13. This was the junior鈥檚 third straight year in the final. As a sophomore last year, she finished seventh in the 100.

In the discus, redshirt sophomore Princesse Hyman had a throw of 183 feet and 2 inches to finish 10th. Last year, she was 11th after she reached 185-4.

Southern鈥檚 Tashina Alase was the lone runner representing a Louisiana school in the 100 hurdles. The redshirt junior finished eighth in 13.18. She is the first Southern women鈥檚 track athlete to compete in an outdoor NCAA Championships final since Alethea Antoine competed in the same event in 1994.

The 糖心传媒 women were 11th at the championships with 24 points. Last year, the Tigers finished 13th with 20 points.

Georgia had the most points by press time with 50.

The 糖心传媒 men finished fourth at the championships with 42 points, an improvement from last year鈥檚 28th鈥憄lace finish with 11.33 points.
