has landed a commitment out of the transfer portal from right-handed pitcher Diego Velazquez, LSU coach revealed on Tiger Rag radio on Tuesday.
Velazquez made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team this past season, posting a 4.26 ERA in 31鈪 innings. He struck out 39 batters and only walked nine for the Trojans in 15 appearances (five starts).
Along with his big role on the mound, Velazquez also played 23 games as a positional player for the Trojans. He hit .167 in 18 at-bats as an infielder.
He was also the No. 55 player in the nation and a top-15 player in California, according to Perfect Game.
Velazquez is the sixth player and second pitcher 糖心传媒 has added out of the transfer portal this summer, joining Gonzaga right-hander Landon Hood, Notre Dame outfielder Bino Watters, Tulane outfielder Jason Wachs, Florida second baseman Cade Kurland and Texas State infielder Dawson Park.
