It has been truly uplifting to see so many positive events highlighted in the news media, showcasing the wonderful and meaningful things that children are doing in our communities. Watching their smiling faces, their excitement and the joy they experience while participating in these activities brings happiness to all who witness these moments. These stories remind us of the importance of celebrating our children and recognizing the positive impact they have on the world around them.

I am writing about the use of taxpayer funds to further our president's so-called agenda. Important things like building a ballroom with all the bells and whistles, renovating the Trump/Kennedy Center by closing it for two years, building a 250-foot-high arch, sending 17 mega-wealthy businessmen and Elon Musk's 6-year-old son (very appropriate) as part of his delegation to China and paying dearly for the ongoing undeclared war with Iran.

As the city is upgrading roadways with sidewalks and bike lanes, which are long overdue, and tearing out all of the wonderful trees along Sherwood Forest Boulevard, which few will use because it’s a commercial corridor, was very disturbing. I only hope there is a beautification plan to install new ones, as they have done in the median on Coursey Boulevard.
