I am writing about the use of taxpayer funds to further our president's so-called agenda. Important things like building a ballroom with all the bells and whistles, renovating the Trump/Kennedy Center by closing it for two years, building a 250-foot-high arch, sending 17 mega-wealthy businessmen and Elon Musk's 6-year-old son (very appropriate) as part of his delegation to China and paying dearly for the ongoing undeclared war with Iran.
Meanwhile, the agenda ignores our economy, our aging infrastructure or citizens who are homeless, without food or medical care. Our taxpayer dollars go to enrich Trump's family, his staff or wealthy business pals one way or another. The average American goes unnoticed. The problems we endure daily mean nothing to our president — just his rants on Truth Social and his naps during important meetings.
What started this rant of mine? Recently, Sen. John Kennedy (our senator) proposed a bill to fund with taxpayer dollars Trump's mega-ballroom project. After he demolished the East Wing of the White House, Trump stated that the ballroom would be paid by private contributions and himself.
During the press gala attended by Trump, his cabinet and staff members and all their wives plus many Secret Service personnel, an attempted attack took place. Trump used this to say we need a bigger and safer ballroom to be paid for by us taxpayers.
We Americans need a huge ballroom like we need less money to spend on necessities, higher inflation, AI taking over jobs or anything it desires, more guns for the entire population, higher wages for coaches and players but less for professors or teachers — I could rant forever in this vein, but I'll stop now.
What is our governing body becoming? Grandiose or grand (stately, dignified)?
