In my opinion, the governor and legislators need to put their thinking caps on and start solving Louisiana's problems from all angles.
Everyone needs more money, including your voting public, but now the Department of Public Safety needs more money to build and house more prisoners. The current Legislature and governor passed tougher penalties for crime and no-parole laws without regard for the repercussions of their actions. Criminal!
This state canβt even release prisoners who have served their sentence on time, much less straighten out corruption in the system that was already in place.
No more money β figure it out with what you have created.
You bowed to political pressure instead of studying the issue to make things better, and now you sleep in the bed.
