STAFF PHOTO BY MICHAEL JOHNSON SMS Email Print Copy article link Save I am a White Christian suburban woman and a former Republican for 35 years who is extremely displeased and disgusted with the majority of our elected Republican legislators regarding redrawing Louisiana’s voting map. If race should not be considered in voting maps, why are the new districts skewed to the White race?It appears Jim Crow is once again the law of the land in Louisiana. White supremacy must not be allowed to silence the voices of the one-third of Louisiana residents who are Black. Their voices are as important as mine. Voting districts must not be unfairly changed.
