An oil storage tank at Hilcorp Energy's Caillou Island oil platform in Terrebonne Bay fell into the water on Monday, August 8, 2022, releasing 14,000 gallons of crude oil. On Wednesday, August 10, the Louisiana Department of Health urged people to avoid the area of the spill and not to eat fish contaminated with oil from the spill.Â
