The two people who died in a car crash in downtown Baton Rouge Sunday afternoon have been identified as a 95-year-old and a 70-year-old.
Robert Tarver, 95, and Carla Tarver, 70, were killed shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday when the Ford F-150 they were passengers in was struck by another pickup that ran a red light at high speed, Baton Rouge Police said.Â
The crash happened in the 900 block of Main Street, under the Interstate 110 overpass. A Ford F-250 traveling east on Main Street collided with their truck, police said.Â
The Tarvers were killed at the scene. The drivers of both trucks were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
