Ascension teens can pick up a Flower Pinch Pot - Packet Pick Up on May 1 at multiple branches. Celebrate spring by creating an air-dry clay and dried flower pinch pot.
The Winnie the Pooh Prom is at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at the Donaldsonville location. Babies and toddlers can dance, play, and pose at a photo backdrop. A handprint craft and refreshments are included.
Market open this weekend
The Magnolia Market is an indoor shopping event in Gonzales, May 1-3, at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center (REV Center), 9039 S. St. Landry Ave., Gonzales.
It features vendors offering jewelry, apparel, home dΓ©cor, gifts, gourmet foods, accessories, bath and body products, and more. It has stroller access, photo ops and a complimentary package hold.
Market hours are Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

VFW Jam is Saturday
The VFW 3693 annual VFW Jam is Saturday, May 2, at The Post on Churchpoint, 42430 Churchpoint Road, Gonzales. The event is open to the public. An indoor vendor market and cash bar are available. Jambalaya is served at 11 a.m.
Prayer breakfast
The Mayorβs Prayer Breakfast is at 7:30 a.m., May 7 at Lemann Memorial Center, 1100 Clay St., Donaldsonville.
Highway 621 Outdoor Market opens
The Highway 621 Outdoor Market, 39275 La. 621, Gonzales, opens at 8 a.m. every Saturday until the end of July. Shop vendors' booths and purchase locally grown produce.Β
Food distributions set
Ascension Parish's commodity distribution is set for the second Tuesday of each month in Donaldsonville and the second Wednesday of the month in Gonzales.
Distributions are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Frank Sotile Jr. Pavilion in Donaldsonville and the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
