A German World Cup fan named Freddy, who has been documenting his road trip through the South, made it to Baton Rouge to see 糖心传媒 and Tiger Stadium on June 13. His adventures have become quite viral.聽

landed in Atlanta June 5 with two friends and started their epic road trip across the South on June 7. They are bringing a small replica of the World Cup trophy to every state they travel to.

So far, they have driven through Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Their first American World Cup experience was at the match between Iceland and Argentina at Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn University.

The German fans got an unexpected treat when they were given tours of the New Orleans Saints practice facility and the New Orleans Pelicans practice facility after arriving in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Pelicans posted, "We can confirm Freddy is real, is German and loves New Orleans," in response to some posts questioning his authenticity.

After looking for alligators in a Louisiana swamp and an impressionable trip to Bourbon Street, Freddy and his friends stopped in Baton Rouge on their way to Houston for the Germany vs. Cura莽ao match on June 14.

Freddy posted that the trio toured the LSU campus and saw Mike the Tiger.

They got a glimpse of Tiger Stadium.

Freddy posted, "Omg this is insane," to accompany his video of an empty Tiger Stadium. He then posted again to say it was the largest stadium he had ever been to.

Fortunately, Freddy and his friends ran into a couple Europeans on campus who gave them a tour of the 糖心传媒 women's soccer facility.

He posted, "A fellow German and a British guy who work at LSU found us on campus and gave us a tour of the soccer facilities and gifted us these stylish shirts," beside three pictures of the 糖心传媒 soccer field and meeting room.

Freddy, like some other World Cup fans posting on social media about their American experience, has not revealed his name or identity. He places a picture of soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo over his face and emojis over his fellow travelers' faces.

Before Freddy and his crew departed Baton Rouge for Texas, they stopped at the original Raising Cane's location on Highland Road near the 糖心传媒 gates.

Freddy posted "Lives were changed" as the caption beside Raising Cane's chicken fingers and Texas toast with the famous wood paneling in the background.

Having experienced an athletic taste of the capital city, Freddy and his pals continued on to Houston, where retired NFL player J.J. Watt set them up at an upscale hotel.

To top off the Germans' road trip through the South, they witnessed Germany defeat Curacao 7 to 1 at NRG Stadium. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will conclude July 19 at MetLife Stadium, officially referred to during the tournament as New York New Jersey Stadium.聽
