Jenny Simon, media developer with the National EMS Academy, was named its Employee of the Year.

Simon has helped improve the quality of educational and recruitment media across the academy and has enhanced the student learning experience and supported outreach and recruitment efforts in the community.

Mandy Ledet was named Acadian Ambulance’s Dispatcher of the Year.

Ledet has been with Acadian since 2007 in the Medic Support Center before transitioning to the dispatch center in February 2009. 

Alex Alexander was named Acadian Air Med’s Flight Registered Nurse of the Year.

Alexander joined Acadian in 2018 as an emergency medical technician, earned his paramedic certification in 2019 and became a registered nurse in 2021. In 2022, he joined Acadian Air Med as a flight nurse.

Alexander also works as a bedside nurse in a local hospital and regularly takes shifts on ground ambulances.

Carolina Carranza, Capital District paramedic field supervisor for Acadian Cos., was named ESOP Employee-Owner of the Year for 2026.

Carranza has been with Acadian Ambulance for 12 years and has worked in the company’s northshore and capital operations regions. She has served on the company’s ESOP Committee for the past three years, with this being her second year as the committee’s secretary.

She has also served as co-chair and chair of the ESOP cook-off and leads the ESOP Social subcommittee.

Shaun Templet, quality improvement supervisor with Acadian Air Med, was named Air Services Employee of the Year.

Templet began his career with Acadian in 2004 as an EMT in Houma, and he later earned his paramedic certification in 2006 and became a critical care transport medic in 2009 before joining the Air Med program full-time in 2012.


Kevin Piker was named commercial relationship manager for the Acadiana market for First Horizon Bank.

Piker, who has more than 25 years in banking and commercial lending, will focus on helping businesses achieve their financial goals through customized banking solutions and relationship-driven service.

Piker has worked for Capital One, JD Bank and JPMorgan Chase, where he built extensive experience in commercial banking and client relationship management.
