Chicken wing lovers across Acadiana are preparing for the return of Wing Wars of Acadiana, a downtown Lafayette festival featuring local cooks, live music and community fundraising.
The event is set for May 16 at Parc International and will feature dozens of wing varieties prepared by local restaurants, chefs and amateur cook teams competing for the title of “Best Wings in Louisiana.”
Organizers said the festival will benefit the , which supports homeless children and families across Acadiana.
In addition to wing tastings, the festival will include live entertainment from local bands and family-friendly activities such as face painting, inflatable attractions and contests.
Admission is $5, and wing samples will be sold separately. Children 10 and younger will be admitted free.
Festivalgoers will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite wings as teams compete in the cook-off.
The festival is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Parc International in downtown Lafayette.
